is seeking an experienced
Earthwork Foreman
to lead grading, excavation, demolition, and civil construction operations across multiple projects. This is a senior‑level role requiring deep field expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage people, equipment, and production efficiently.

The
Foreman
oversees field operations, coordinates crews and equipment, ensures production goals are met, and maintains a safe and efficient jobsite environment. You will play a key role in planning work, solving problems, maintaining quality control, and driving profitability. This posting represents
Foreman Levels 2, 3, and 4.
Level placement is based on experience, performance, and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily jobsite operations to meet schedule and production goals profitably
Maintain equipment productivity and oversee preventive maintenance
Read and interpret plans; set grades and direct equipment operations
Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations
Maintain positive team morale and support a high‑performance culture
Coordinate Two‑Week Look Ahead planning with the Project Manager
Complete all required jobsite documentation, including T&M tracking, compaction records, and job closeout paperwork
Identify and solve operational challenges to keep projects on track
Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Mentor and help develop Laborers, Grade Checkers, Operators, and other crew members
Promote Elite Earthworks & Engineering within the industry
Advanced Expectations (Higher‑Level Foreman)
Managing multiple job sites simultaneously
Meeting or exceeding profit and performance goals
Leading large or complex grading and excavation projects
Training and developing junior foremen and field staff
Overseeing subcontractors and multiple scopes of work
Contributing to leadership mindset and company culture
Strong documentation, communication, and job costing accuracy
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
OSHA 30‑HR Certification (training assistance available)
Requirements
5 to 6 or more years of experience in grading, excavation, and demolition
Strong understanding of soil, compaction, and moisture control
Ability to read plans, set grades, and direct equipment operations
Experience coordinating schedules, equipment, and field personnel
Strong communication and leadership skills
Valid driver’s license
Must be able to meet the company’s drug‑free workplace policy and safety standards, including passing any required pre‑employment or safety‑related screenings in compliance with California law.
Training & Development
Production‑focused rough & fine grading training
Scheduling, job tracking, cost codes, and budget skills
Leadership, communication, and team‑building training
Advanced time management, job costing, negotiation, and project management coursework
Compensation & Benefits
Full‑time, Non‑Exempt, W‑2 position.
Competitive hourly pay at $40 to $60, based on Foreman level and experience
Profit bonus on jobs under your management (effective after 1 year of employment). Terms to be discussed.
Health insurance is covered by the employer at 100% for base plans for you as the employee.
Dental insurance is covered by the employer at 100% for base plans for you as the employee.
Vision insurance is provided as an option (not covered by the employer).
$25k Life insurance plan covered by employer at 100%.
401(k) available for contributions (no matching).
