Overview There’s way more to H‑E‑B than our 400+ stores. To support our manufacturing and warehouse campus locations, the Industrial Facility Services team provides maintenance, repair, and construction in ammonia refrigeration, plant utilities, automated systems, and building services.
Responsibilities As a Maintenance Technology Leader II, you will lead the Industrial Facility Services Facility Maintenance Team, ensuring the safety, reliability, and cost‑effective operation of H‑E‑B’s industrial facilities. Your scope of responsibility includes strategy, budgets, and capital project execution. Once you’re eligible, you’ll become an owner in the company, reflecting our commitment to people, quality, and customer service.
Lead assigned facility maintenance teams, HVAC technicians, vendor specialists, and foremen; accountable for the Industrial Facility Services HVAC Maintenance Team
Hire, set expectations for, and monitor exempt and non‑exempt partners
Provide leadership to teams implementing maintenance plans to optimize the useful life of assets
Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of safety and regulatory compliance programs (OSHA, EPA, local agencies)
Ensure proper safety programs exist; communicate and ensure compliance by maintenance partners and customers
Ensure all equipment is reflected in the maintenance system with correct PMs
Assist in development and management of assigned facilities annual repair and equipment replacement budgets
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to design and construct new facilities and establish standard specifications; collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to develop and update design specifications on new facilities
Review maintenance cost/effectiveness data with each leader throughout the year; direct necessary course corrections
Collaborate with Facility Maintenance Manager to update design specifications
Strategy
Collaborate in development of reliability strategies, goals, and expectations
Maintain a continuous‑improvement philosophy related to industrial HVAC maintenance processes, methods, systems

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in maintenance management, reliability, mechanical, or electrical engineering
5+ years of related experience (or AAS degree plus 5+ years as a Maintenance Manager)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word), a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and Internet
Management and leadership skills
Bilingual (English – Spanish) skills is a plus
Additional Requirements
Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
Walk long distances; climb ladders/stairs to gain rooftop access; stand, stoop, crawl; work in hot and cold spaces; maneuver around equipment
Work around industrial facilities, including food, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, refrigerated environments
Respond to emergency situations any time of day or night
Work overnights, rotating schedules, holidays and weekends
Spend long periods on the job during emergencies (inside and outside)
