About The Role Injection Molding Maintenance Mechanic (Day & Night Shifts Available) – Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of injection molding machines (IMMs) and auxiliary equipment to ensure maximum uptime, optimal performance, and safe operation in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Reports To Maintenance Manager (Alternate: Plant Manager)

Position Scope The role requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise with the ability to work independently and respond quickly to minimize production downtime.

Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance

Participate in scheduled team meetings related to safety, production planning, and customer requirements

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned IMMs per manufacturer guidelines and company PM schedules

Conduct daily machine inspections to proactively identify potential issues

Lubricate components, monitor hydraulic oil levels/quality, and replace filters as required

Inspect and maintain clamp systems, injection units, and ejection systems

Maintain accurate PM documentation in Upkeep/NetSuite

Monitor and document machine parameters including temperature, pressure, and cycle time

Replace worn components proactively to prevent unplanned downtime

Coordinate PM activities with production schedules to minimize disruption

Troubleshooting & Repairs

Respond immediately to machine breakdowns to reduce downtime

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues

Repair or replace components such as valves, motors, heaters, sensors, and controls

Troubleshoot PLCs, HMI interfaces, and control systems

Collaborate with mold technicians to resolve mold‑related issues

Maintain detailed repair records, including parts usage and labor time

Communicate equipment status and repair timelines to production leadership

Escalate prolonged downtime with action plans to management

Parts & Inventory Management

Maintain adequate inventory of critical spare parts

Order replacement parts through NetSuite and coordinate with purchasing

Source components from OEMs and approved vendors

Track parts usage and costs to support maintenance budgeting

Recommend inventory adjustments based on failure trends

Ensure proper disposal of defective parts and maintain organized work areas

Machine Performance & Optimization

Monitor cycle times, downtime, and equipment efficiency

Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures

Adjust mechanical and control settings to optimize performance and quality

Support continuous improvement initiatives

Recommend equipment upgrades and reliability enhancements

Document best practices and lessons learned

Quality & Safety

Follow all OSHA, LOTO, and company safety procedures

Ensure machine guards, safety devices, and emergency stops are fully functional

Wear required PPE at all times

Maintain clean and hazard‑free work areas

Report safety incidents, near misses, and concerns immediately

Support SQF, food safety, and quality compliance requirements

Ensure proper shift hand‑offs and documentation

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and use of tools

Frequent lifting of 10-50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs with assistance

Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and hot environments

Ability to stand/walk on concrete floors for extended periods

Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and on‑call support
