Accounts Receivable Specialist

Growing company in New York, NY is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a full‑time opportunity supporting the finance and accounting department and working closely with the Controller. The position offers a compensation range up to $85,000 + benefits and bonus.

Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Qualifications

3+ years of accounts receivable experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field

Technically savvy

Responsibilities

Ensure invoices are accurate, complete, and issued on time.

Update billing information and verify pricing, PO numbers, and contract terms.

Record incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit card, wire).

Reconcile discrepancies between payments received and invoice amounts.

Monitor aging reports to identify past‑due accounts.

Reconcile customer accounts weekly or monthly.

Investigate and resolve short payments, unapplied payments, and chargebacks.

Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly A/R aging reports.

Respond to customer questions regarding billing or account status.

Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Assist with audits related to revenue and receivables.
