Key Responsibilities
Manage federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance
Prepare and file quarterly and annual returns (941, 940, W-2s, state filings)
Reconcile payroll tax accounts and ensure accurate liability reporting
Handle payroll tax notices and agency correspondence
Support audits and resolve discrepancies with tax authorities
Maintain tax setup within payroll systems for compliance
Assist with year-end processing and tax reporting
Partner with HR and Accounting on payroll-related reporting and controls
Participate in system upgrades and process improvement projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of payroll tax or payroll accounting experience
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
Experience with ADP, Workday, UKG, Paychex, or similar systems
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
CPP or FPC preferred but not required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
