Overview ECI is seeking a graduate electrical engineer to join our Planning and Studies team. The role involves performing a variety of electrical studies using tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN Oneliner, Cape, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV. The new graduate will be paired with an experienced ECI engineer for training, mentoring, and QA/QC processes to ensure successful onboarding. Projects will primarily relate to large‑scale (50‑2000+ MW) renewable energy projects including wind, solar, and energy storage, as well as support for utilities and industrial clients.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical studies using industry software (PSS/e, PSLF, ASPEN, Cape, PSCAD, EMTP‑RV)
Assist with equipment selection and apparatus rating development for EHV/HV/MV/LV transformers, circuit breakers, switches, cables, switchgear, inverters, wind turbines, DC/AC aux power systems, etc.
Support project conceptual development, design, and plant operating issues after COD
Conduct transmission‑level load additions, long‑range planning, generation interconnections, black‑start analysis, voltage unbalance/line transposition analysis, breaker TRV assessments, insulation coordination studies, and related distribution planning tasks
Prepare high‑quality written engineering reports and communicate findings to clients and internal teams
Travel/drive occasionally as required by project needs
Qualifications
BSEE or MSEE from an accredited university eligible to sit for the Professional Engineering exam
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational ability
Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (H‑1B, etc.) now or in the future
Will be subject to client‑mandated drug and background checks, and ECI auto insurance carrier requirements
Preferred exposure to renewable energy projects, but experience is not required
