Staff Software Engineer (Healthcare Interoperability, HL7/FHIR) Join BD Nogales Norte as a Staff Software Engineer to help build a cloud‑based Clinical Interoperability platform that supports HL7/FHIR standards and HIPAA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design and develop a cloud‑based Clinical Interoperability platform using Go on AWS.

Integrate third‑party interface engines (Mirth, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody) to enable seamless data exchange between health‑care systems.

Ensure the platform strictly complies with HL7, FHIR, HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Design and implement scalable, secure, cost‑effective solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.).

Drive best practices in cloud architecture, serverless, containerization (ECS, Fargate) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Implement CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline/Build/Deploy) and monitor with CloudWatch, GuardDuty and other security services.

Lead and mentor a small engineering team on AWS practices, cloud security and infrastructure‑as‑code.

Collate with product, DevOps and clinical informatics teams to validate interoperability and compliance.

Own post‑launch support, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of software development experience, 3+ years in a technical leadership role.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.

Strong expertise in Go programming language.

Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, etc.).

Experience building and deploying cloud‑based SaaS solutions for clinical interoperability.

Deep knowledge of HL7 and FHIR standards and third‑party interface engines (Mirth, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody).

Understanding of AWS security best practices (IAM, VPC, KMS, HIPAA‑compliant architecture).

Proficiency with modern software engineering practices (CI/CD, IaC, containerization).

Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Additional Required HL7/FHIR & Interoperability Skills

Comprehensive understanding of HL7 and FHIR standards.

Experience with Mirth, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody interface engines.

Knowledge of clinical data‑exchange workflows and integration patterns.

Ability to design solutions that meet interoperability & HIPAA compliance.

Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary ranging from $124,700 to $205,800 annually, plus potential performance bonus and discretionary LTI bonus.

Workplace & Eligibility On‑site participation required, minimum of four days per week, with flexibility arrangements for remote or field‑based roles as indicated.
