Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize mechanical designs for new and existing products.
Create detailed CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings conforming to industry standards.
Perform engineering calculations, simulations (e.g., FEA), and analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes for cost-effective and robust production.
Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability and assembly.
Design, build, and test prototypes to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, BOMs, and technical reports.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or PTC Creo.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
Demonstrated knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) principles and material selection.
Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.
Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing).
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
