Design and develop new products, components, and assemblies for manufacturing. Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CAD software. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Conduct design analysis, simulations, and prototyping to validate concepts and performance. Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards. Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs and specifications. Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product reliability, cost, and efficiency. Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for part and assembly design. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material science, and stress analysis. Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) across various manufacturing processes. Ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to technical drawings. Experience with prototyping, testing, and validating designs. Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing designs for performance, cost, and production efficiency. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software. Demonstrated understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
