Purpose of Position We are looking for a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing our organizational effectiveness. The position involves supporting various HR functions that promote employee engagement and satisfaction while aligning with company goals. The Human Resources Generalist will manage a comprehensive benefits program, oversee payroll, ensure compliance with employment laws, cultivate a positive workplace culture, and foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll, Timecard, and Systems Administration – Lead end-to-end payroll processing with exceptional accuracy and efficiency, demonstrating advanced proficiency in ADP payroll and timekeeping systems.
Oversee timecard management, including employee punches, supervisor approvals, corrections, and exception handling to ensure alignment with wage and hour regulations. Proactively resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies, serving as subject matter expert for payroll, timecard, and system-related inquiries and audits.
Leave Administration and Regulatory Compliance – Administer and manage employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, state‑specific leave, and company-sponsored leave policies. Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and coordination with payroll.
Employee Relations – Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts while promoting a positive workplace culture.
Compliance and Legal Adherence – Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Maintain and update employee records and HR policies in alignment with legal standards.
Performance Management – Support managers in conducting performance reviews and setting employee development goals. Address performance issues and implement improvement plans when needed.
Benefits and Compensation Administration – Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
Deliver or facilitate training sessions to support skill‑building and compliance. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records and databases for all employees.
HR Data Management and Reporting – Maintain accurate HR metrics and provide regular reports on key HR functions. Analyze trends such as turnover and retention to guide strategic decision‑making.
Policy Implementation and Communication – Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assist in updating and implementing employee handbooks and policy manuals.
Recruitment and Onboarding – Assist with managing full‑cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, and hiring.
Assist with coordinating and conducting new hire onboarding and orientation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources or a related role.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA).
Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
Proficiency in using HR information systems (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping and documentation.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including drafting clear and concise correspondence and reports.
Effective interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams and engage with employees at all levels.
Problem‑solving and conflict resolution abilities with a focus on confidentiality and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences
Certification in Human Resources, such as SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM‑CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR), is highly desirable.
Experience in benefits administration, recruiting, or HR compliance is preferred.
Familiarity with HR technology platforms and tools.
Expertise in coordinating employee training programs and facilitating workshops.
Skilled in implementing programs to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity.
Proficient in analyzing HR data and metrics to make informed decisions.
