Responsibilities
Accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations, cash forecasting, and full-service accounting.
Manage the setup and tracking of all projects and actively involved with Creation Associates to meet strict deadlines. Ensure accuracy of payables and equity balances associated with projects.
Cooperate with outside 3rd party property managers to consolidate financial records
Review and record real estate settlement statements and monthly property management reports.
Assist with all tax matters including real estate taxes, income taxes, and K-1s.
Tracking inside and outside basis for partners.
Provide input into the development and improvement of accounting processes for efficiency improvements.
Participate in audit requests and communication with external auditors.
Required Attributes
Proactive, team player, positive attitude, and willing to go the extra mile.
Minimum of 2+ years accounting experience, construction, real estate transactions and/or property management accounting.
Demonstrated understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Yardi experience a plus.
Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Decision Making: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
Problem Solving: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and align with the values of the organization.
Evaluation An annual review by Controller, peers and related company staff will be used as part of the evaluation. The above functions of the position will be used as a basis of the review. Evidence of your demonstration of company values, functional assistance with the team in areas needed, client rapport and your individual goals will also undergo evaluation.
