Job Overview As the Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Consultant in the Office of Human Resources, you will serve as a subject‑matter expert for all employment business processes across non‑faculty, faculty, and student positions. You will manage end‑to‑end recruitment, hiring, and personnel actions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
Primary Responsibilities (Functions) Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and hiring processes for EHRA Non‑Faculty, SHRA, Temporary, and Student Employment positions.
Review and approve job postings, recruitment plans, and candidate selections.
Ensure timely processing of offers, background checks, and onboarding actions to meet Employment and Payroll deadlines.
Implement strategies to strengthen talent branding, recruitment marketing, and candidate engagement.
Develop targeted sourcing approaches and manage postings on specialized job boards.
Monitor applicant flow trends and provide recommendations to improve recruitment outcomes.
Customer Service
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned departments, maintaining knowledge of operations, staffing needs, and workflow patterns.
Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, confidentiality, and accuracy in all HR transactions.
Provide responsive and customer‑focused service to departments and candidates.
Promote consistent HR practices that support operational effectiveness and organizational goals.
Communication and Consultation
Offer proactive support and recommendations to enhance departmental staffing efficiency and compliance.
Conduct regular communication with hiring managers to ensure smooth recruitment and personnel action processes.
Provide consultative support to campus departments on recruitment, hiring, employment policies, and position management procedures.
Interpret and communicate HR policies, timelines, and requirements consistently across units.
Assist units in navigating employment issues and identifying appropriate solutions.
Compliance Management
Ensure adherence to internal HR & Shared Services procedures, UNC System Office requirements, and OSHR regulations.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, recruitment files, and personnel documents.
Generate and analyze reports to support recruitment tracking, workflow monitoring, and process improvement.
Initiate and process personnel actions for hires, reappointments, salary changes, separations, and other employment transactions.
Maintain thorough documentation within PeopleAdmin, Banner and related HR systems.
Analytical and Conceptual Thinking
Apply sound judgment, analytical skills, and problem‑solving abilities to address HR issues and recommend effective solutions.
Manage sensitive information with integrity and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, University and OSHR policies, and compliance requirements related to recruitment, hiring, personnel actions, I‑9 verification, employment eligibility, and record retention.
Demonstrated experience using enterprise HR systems such as PeopleAdmin, Banner, E‑Verify, and BDMS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to analyze data, manage documentation, and navigate workflow‑driven systems accurately.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain HR processes, timelines, and policy requirements clearly.
Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships across diverse client groups.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
