What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization solutions
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and recovery procedures
Manage database security, including user access, roles, and permissions
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and assist with query optimization
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning
Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication and performance tuning
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
