Base Pay Range
$44,512.00/yr - $66,768.00/yr
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Entry Level Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software while demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role is perfect for candidates who have recently obtained basic IT certifications and are eager to start their career in technology support.
Responsibilities
Respond to user inquiries and provide timely technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, performing basic repairs and escalating complex problems to senior staff as needed.
Install, configure, and update operating systems and standard application software.
Assist in the setup of new workstations and ensure proper connectivity to networks and resources.
Document issues, solutions, and user interactions in the ticketing system.
Maintain inventory records for IT equipment and supplies.
Support end-users in-person, over the phone, and via remote desktop tools.
Follow established IT policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in IT or related field is a plus.
Basic IT certifications such as CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+), A+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate preferred.
Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
Understanding of basic networking concepts (Wi‑Fi, LAN, printer connectivity).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Customer service orientation and a willingness to learn.
Work Environment This is an on-site position that may require occasional lifting or moving of computer equipment. The role offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the IT department for candidates who demonstrate initiative and technical aptitude.
