Location: Avondale Early Learning Center, Avondale School District.
Position Summary Substitute position for the Early Learning Center Lead Teacher. Partner with current staff and collaborate on planning, assessment, and instruction for preschool‑aged children, meeting state licensing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience with Early Childhood/Preschool‑aged Children
Certified CPR and First Aid
Proficiency in providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences
Collaborative decision‑making and problem solving within a team
Effective engagement with diverse families and parent partnership
Resource support for families
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
Responsibilities
Implement developmentally appropriate instruction using the HighScope curriculum
Follow daily routine as outlined in curriculum
Conduct ongoing assessment and provide age‑appropriate instructional support
Attend staff meetings, workshops, and professional learning activities
Participate in planning, team meetings, troubleshooting, and decision making
Support behavior and educational process in classroom
Assist with district recruitment efforts, open houses, round‑ups
Flexible hours for family engagement activities including parent workshops, conferences, orientation, recruitment events, open houses
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements Employee must be capable of performing physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for long periods of time. Work environment has raised noise level.
