Inventory Specialist

in Mount Juliet, TN. You will support inventory best practices across the front end and pharmacy, ensuring accurate on‑hand balances, pricing, and on‑shelf availability.

Base Pay Range $17.00 – $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

Execute and monitor inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.

Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.

Champion on‑shelf availability; receive, count, price, and return merchandise, validate planograms, and ensure accuracy of all in‑store inventory processes.

Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications to maintain accurate on‑hand balances and pricing.

Maintain asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, and damaged goods, including prescription drugs.

Open and close the store in the absence of store management, handling required system start‑ups, cash handling, and cashier responsibilities while preparing the floor and stock rooms.

Engage customers by greeting them, providing assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.

Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory processes, including receiving orders, scans, and returns.

Complete pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls, vendor returns, and pricing changes.

Maintain accurate inventory counts across all departments and comply with state and local regulated product laws.

Assist with physical inventory planning and support day‑of inventory activities.

Cooperate with management on all team communications and disciplinary reporting.

Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal) or one year of prior retail work experience (external).

Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months for internal candidates only.

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi‑task and manage execution.

Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, customer service associate, or similar role.

Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
