Job Summary: The Foreman - Golf & Grounds will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team dedicated to maintaining specific areas of the hotel grounds. Working alongside a team of approximately 10-12 members, the individual in this role must possess strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to determine the most efficient methods for landscaping maintenance. In addition to managing the team, the Foreman must have experience in team leadership, equipment operation, pest detection, proper pruning techniques, general landscaping practices, and irrigation management. A high level of motivation is essential to ensure the delivery of exceptional results.
Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a team in tasks such as mowing, planting, trimming, fertilizing, and applying chemicals to enhance the grounds' aesthetics.
Utilize equipment, including high lift machinery for tree trimming, as needed to maintain the property.
Monitor and manage moisture levels in the landscape, ensuring appropriate hydration for plant and turf health.
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure a cohesive approach to landscaping maintenance.
Implement best practices for groundskeeping to enhance the overall appearance and appeal of the property.
Collaborate with management to develop and execute plans for ongoing landscape improvements.
Uphold safety standards and protocols to create a secure work environment for the team and guests.
Qualifications
Proven experience in managing a team involved in groundskeeping or landscaping maintenance.
Proficiency in operating landscaping equipment and tools.
Knowledge of pest identification and control methods related to landscaping practices.
Strong understanding of irrigation systems and moisture management techniques.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions and requirements to team members.
Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
Motivated attitude with a commitment to achieving high-quality standards in grounds maintenance.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings based on operational needs.
Any relevant certifications or licenses in landscaping, horticulture, or related fields are a plus.
