Job Description The Coordinator II, Instruction facilitates daily operations of assigned instructional areas at Creekside Center. Responsibilities include administrative, operational, and instructional support functions such as science lab preparation, event scheduling, supply management, safety compliance, and laboratory support.
Essential Job Functions
Perform administrative and operational support functions, including creating and monitoring reports related to science labs and events.
Communicate with faculty and laboratory staff about schedules and materials; maintain a constant dialogue throughout the semester.
Coordinate daily operations of assigned area(s); maintain records and act as point of contact for internal and external customers.
Order and maintain a variety of supplies (science supplies, classroom and office equipment, promotional items).
Properly monitor, handle, sterilize, and dispose of hazardous and chemical waste or materials.
Ensure safety and quality assurance practices are followed, including maintenance of SDS workstations and proper use of PPE.
Provide routine lab support including cleaning, restocking, course preparation, washing materials, and recording inventory.
Collaborate with main campus to coordinate visits with Service Area School Career Center Counselors.
Attend college and community job fairs to present program information and coach prospective students.
Maintain professional relationships with LSC employees at all levels and with outside vendors.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of infection control policies and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA).
Broad knowledge of the sciences and related safety protocols.
Working knowledge of sterile/aseptic techniques for microbiology.
Organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications.
Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimum instruction and cooperatively as a team member.
Ability to work with a diverse group of faculty and staff.
Capable of performing required duties with minimal supervision.
Good safety record and safety consciousness.
Physical Abilities Requires periods of standing, walking over uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting moderately heavy items.
Work Schedule and Conditions
Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
Work performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree and least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary Hiring salary range is $44,793 – $51,512.
