as an Electronics Technician 2 in our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. M.C. Dean is a leading provider of building intelligence solutions, delivering resilient, secure technology across federal, local, and commercial markets.

Overview We design, build, operate, and maintain cyber‑physical solutions for mission‑critical facilities. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will support intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for our customers.

Responsibilities

Execute technical tasks in field operations, including on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.

Perform site surveys, configure hardware and software, test systems for proper operation, and provide technical support to customers.

Analyze and interpret M.C. Dean drawing packages to assess constructability.

Verify correct charges in timesheets and ensure installation and maintenance activities meet planned durations.

Track and inventory tools, conduct daily tool inspections, and maintain tool inventory at the end of each day.

Participate in 10‑minute daily ORM meetings, ensuring team compliance with safety requirements.

Participate in PITCO plan creation and build‑out, executing the plan to include testing for high quality.

Install system raceways, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and all mounting hardware, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to NEC standards.

Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.

Rack and stack head‑end equipment, terminating cables, and performing accessories work per industry standards.

Communicate consistently with project teams, exhibiting dedication, punctuality, and preparedness.

Act as a collaborative teammate, providing and absorbing constructive feedback with internal and external customers.

Plan and prioritize tasks effectively, embodying the M.C. Dean vision, mission, and values.

Survey and document existing field conditions, providing feedback and recommendations to the project team.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship; subject to a government security investigation with eligibility for a Top Secret clearance (required).

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of 720 classroom hours of military electronics training.

Night shift: Friday – Sunday, 6 PM – 6:30 AM.

Minimum 4 years of electronics installation and/or maintenance on multiple systems and customer programs.

Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

Time‑management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.

Valid driver’s license; acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom, Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows).

Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician or Electrical Apprenticeship program.

3 years of experience focused on electronic security systems.

Strong skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Abilities & Physical Requirements

Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Lift a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.

Work at heights up to 60 feet, including scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.

Perform routine lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.

Good vision (may be corrected) and ability to see in color; hearing and English communication.

Recognize problems and apply general rules to specific situations.

Use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
