Important Candidate Requirements — All Must Be Met

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum 5 years of experience in a production environment.

Minimum 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience.

Strong PC/systems skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work with budgets and analyze data to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to interact effectively with associates at all levels.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Flexible to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.

Proficient in English; Spanish communication skills a plus.

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor (1st Shift) will oversee insertion operations, ensuring that all Service Level Agreements are met efficiently while managing a team of up to 40 full‑time and temporary associates. The role involves prioritizing client mailings, maximizing production throughput, controlling labor costs, and coordinating resources between departments to maintain high‑quality standards. This position reports to the Manager of Production Operations and requires hands‑on leadership on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for production sign‑off on all jobs, including material, media, and indicia verification.

Ensure all operators receive proper technical and procedural training.

Oversee labor on the production floor, utilizing temp agencies and scheduling to match workflow needs, including weekends and holidays.

Ensure all machines have work assigned and minimize downtime.

Meet and exceed cost per unit, quality, safety, and associate satisfaction targets.

Maintain detailed operating knowledge of all production hardware, equipment, software, and applications.

Prepare operator productivity and quality reports; provide ongoing performance feedback.

Motivate and develop the team to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety.

Delegate and prioritize “Must‑Mail” jobs; track and communicate hot job status between departments.

Ensure material handlers maintain proper materials on machines and accurate inventory counts.

Work with management to set department and individual goals and communicate expectations.

Assume all Production Manager responsibilities in the manager’s absence.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with additional coverage as needed.
