The incumbent works under the direction of a Highway Mechanic Supervisor and/or a Caltrans Heavy Equipment Mechanic Lead worker. Responsibilities include working in shop and/or field environments, constructing, inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing various equipment used in the Department's fleet. Record keeping, computer usage, and occasional field travel are required. A valid Class C driver license and PPE usage are mandatory. The role may involve travel, rotations, shift changes, and varied work hours. Special Requirements
Valid California Driver’s License (CDL), class and endorsements as documented on the application. Drug screening prior to employment. Unrestricted Class C driver license. License required when operating state owned or leased vehicle. Application Instructions
