Job Title: Sr. Photonics Design Engineer Location: Cambridge, MA Compensation: $150K - $250K base DOE plus equity

Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Photonics Design Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in photonics design, with a strong focus on Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). This role will involve the design and simulation of both passive and active photonic devices, leveraging cutting‑edge tools and technologies to advance our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Design and simulate photonic integrated circuits (PICs) using Lumerical and IPKISS software.

Develop and optimize passive and active photonic devices for various applications.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate photonic solutions into larger systems.

Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in integrated photonics technologies.

Qualifications

Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in photonics design, specifically in PIC design.

Proficiency in Lumerical, IPKISS, and GDSFactory design tools.

Strong understanding of both passive and active photonic device design concepts.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
