As part of Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway, you will lead teams in the wire and cable area, ensuring safety, productivity, quality and on‑time delivery of manufactured products.

Responsibilities

Provide daily direction, coaching and mentoring to machine operators to achieve safety, quality, engineering, delivery, productivity, and efficiency objectives.

Serve as approver for weekly time off and timesheets.

Partner with HR to ensure appropriate staffing levels, complete performance reviews, conduct interviews, select candidates, and conduct necessary training.

Collaborate with process engineering and materials management to support manufacturing processes and ensure resources meet active work orders.

Work closely with quality and engineering on special products as required.

Support compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.

Maintain compliance with Marmon IEI Environmental, Health and Safety policies.

Contribute to and communicate facility continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Gemba board meetings).

Lead production meetings and communicate information related to production, quality, safety, projects and company initiatives.

Manage schedule boards and monitor job progression through the queue.

Review quality specifications for inconsistencies and coordinate with engineering as needed.

Serve as the main point of contact for mechanical equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance.

Support and participate in Lean, 5S and process improvement initiatives.

Train new machine operators and cross‑train existing operators.

Work collaboratively with peers, managers, and Marmon IEI employees on all projects and tasks assigned.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED required; associate, bachelor or higher degree in manufacturing or related field preferred.

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibilities in machinery operation and team supervision strongly preferred.

A mix of equivalent education and experience is acceptable.

Wire and cable experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Hands‑on wire and cable experience preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organization and time‑management skills.

Basic arithmetic and statistical skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of machines and tools, and basic maintenance.

Ability to provide customer‑specific specifications.

Strong troubleshooting and multi‑tasking abilities.

Self‑starter who can work with minimal supervision.

Good housekeeping practices.

Understanding of business and management principles such as resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership, production methods, coordination, and simplification.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Noise‑prone manufacturing environment.

Must adhere to safety guidelines and wear required PPE.

Long hours standing and operating machinery or performing basic maintenance.

Will work in high temperatures.

Ability to lift or move objects and materials up to 50 lb.
