Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant supports accurate and timely financial reporting by managing core accounting functions, executing monthly close activities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and organizational policies. This role works closely with Finance leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities
Lead monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
Maintain staff allocations and execute expense allocations across programs and funding sources
Review and process semi‑monthly payroll with HR, ensuring accuracy and proper coding
Perform bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain General Ledger integrity
Prepare revenue accruals and ensure proper recognition under GAAP
Maintain and update supporting Excel schedules for key accounts
Collaborate with Grants Accounting on salary distributions, revenue accruals, billing, and expense alignment with funder requirements
Support annual audits through schedule preparation and timely responses to auditor inquiries
Assist with ledger maintenance, system troubleshooting, and Chart of Accounts accuracy
Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements with variance analyses and actionable insights
Compensation Salary: $90,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications.
