Overview
Construction Accountant will manage daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, job cost allocation, subcontractor billing, and financial support for a fast-paced construction environment. This role works closely with the CFO and supports overall project financial accuracy.
Responsibilities
Record daily transactions and maintain accurate job-costed general ledger entries.
Process AP/AR, including vendor invoices, customer billing, payment applications, and collections support.
Handle subcontractor invoicing, verify contract compliance, and maintain COIs and Workers’ Compensation documentation.
Prepare and track AIA billing, lien waivers, and related project documentation.
Assist with WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and project financial reporting.
Prepare sales tax filings and assist with other basic tax tasks.
Support budgeting, job cost analysis, and ad hoc financial reporting for management.
Assist external CPA firm with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Track and categorize business expenses; manage high-volume credit card transactions.
Maintain organized financial records, audit documentation, and inventory tracking.
Qualifications
2+ years of Construction Accounting experience, including AIA billing and WIP/revenue recognition.
Proficiency in QuickBooks is required (QB Online preferred).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management.
Ability to handle confidential information and work in a fast-paced environment.
