Nominal, Inc
About Nominal
Nominal is building the software infrastructure that powers the world’s most advanced hardware systems – from spacecraft and autonomous vehicles to next-generation industrial machines. Our platform ingests high-rate telemetry, validates complex autonomy software in real time, and helps engineering teams iterate faster, without sacrificing safety or precision. We’re a small, fast-moving team of engineers and operators who own problems end-to-end, work across disciplines, and thrive on solving challenges at the intersection of hardware and software. As a dual-use platform, we're serving top-tier commercial and defense customers, including the U.S. Navy, United States Air Force, Anduril, General Atomics, and more. We’re backed by top-tier investors – Sequoia, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Lightspeed Ventures – who share our mission to accelerate innovation in mission-critical systems. Our team brings experience from SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril, Tesla, Bain & Company, and other leading companies, united by a common goal: enabling hardware engineers to push the boundaries of advanced technology with speed, safety, and precision. We're looking for a versatile operator to help build out Nominal’s Business Operations function during a period of high growth. You will work across finance, go-to-market, and strategic projects, with exposure to nearly every part of the business. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, moves fast, and is energized by doing whatever it takes to help a company scale. Beyond the core work, you could find yourself tackling product usage analytics, strategic partnerships, talent brand building, international expansion, office procurement, offsite planning, OKRs and goal-setting, performance management, and more. What you’ll do
Drive financial planning and analysis: Support FP&A, budgeting, and investment planning. Assist with fundraising as needed, and help manage investor relations. Build scalable go-to-market infrastructure: Formalize marketing, sales collateral, demos, documentation, pricing, and contracts. Help systematize sales processes as we grow. Support new market entrance: Perform targeted research on new products, verticals, or geographies. Articulate value propositions and manage logistics for new initiatives. Strengthen how we operate: Establish and maintain organizational processes and help build a best-in-class culture as the team scales. Work cross-functionally to build alignment across the business to solve novel problems. Pitch in wherever needed: Talent, compliance, communications – you’ll do whatever it takes to accelerate the pace and raise the quality bar at Nominal. We’re looking for someone with
2+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, internal strategy & operations, or other fast-paced environments Comfort operating across functions and context-switching between different types of work; dynamic responsibilities excite you High EQ and the ability to work with a variety of personalities, functions, and seniority levels; you know how to generate buy-in without relying on hierarchy Strong analytical skills, with a bias toward thinking in quantitative results Problem solver with end-to-end ownership, from issue framing to resolution Highly organized with strong attention to detail Clear communicator, both written and verbal Willingness to do whatever needs doing, quickly; low ego and bias to action Skills that supercharge us
Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or hardware industries Technical fluency or engineering background is a plus TS/SCI clearance All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
