Job Summary Perform high‑quality data abstraction that is accurate and suitable for statistical analysis. Data must meet protocol‑specified parameters and comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. The role is responsible for the accurate entry, transmission, retrieval, and management of study data for the AU Georgia Cancer Center, Clinical Trials Office, while ensuring all data is handled in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policies.

Responsibilities

Accurately enter study data into case report forms (electronic and paper) according to study requirements for all studies.

Create and distribute a weekly schedule for all research patient visits.

Schedule monitoring visits (remote or onsite), ensuring all visits are captured and correctly identified in OnCore.

Track all new patients by serving as the primary contact for receipt of informed consents and maintain a comprehensive accrual list.

Confirm that research patients have been registered to the study in OnCore.

Handle data in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policies, and assist in implementing data management procedures.

Serve as backup to the lab tech; order pathology slides, ship to sponsors, order CT scans on CD and upload to sponsors.

Retrieve data in an acceptable format upon request by investigators, CTO leadership, or senior leadership.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; OR completion of two years of college‑level coursework with two years of related work experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Detail‑oriented team player with strong mathematical, data entry, time‑management, organizational, and analytical skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of transcription/dictation, medical terminology, research study planning, medical data management, data retrieval, and HIPAA guidelines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, work under minimal supervision, accomplish tasks in a timely manner, and manage a high volume of callers through multi‑line systems.

Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift: Days/M‑F. Pay Band: B6. Salary Range: $18.85–$20.47 hourly. Benefits may include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates must successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting.

Positions may require a credit check for Positions of Trust and approved departmental purchase‑card usage.

Motor‑vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.

Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degree(s) and post‑secondary coursework with original transcripts.
