Job Summary
Perform and direct procedures and functions on the Molecular Diagnostic. Reporting to the Laboratory Director.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day supervision of test performance and testing personnel tasks. Assure that all the right actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications. Coordinate staffing needs, training, evaluation, and competency of employees. Maintain optimal cost effectiveness and delivery of testing with accuracy, validity, and reliability. Perform patient testing when necessary to complete laboratory work. Evaluate new instruments, methods, and procedures to keep the laboratory updated. Ensure that Quality Control measures are conducted and reviewed on a regular schedule. Preparation of SOP, validation of new tests. Monitor daily QC to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift / Salary / Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday – Friday (work outside normal business hours may be required). Salary: To be commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum–midpoint). Benefits: Health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full‑time employees who have been with us for more than six months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program.
