Creative real estate company in New York, NY is seeking a Project Accountant to work closely with the Controller and VP.
Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience within the real estate industry
Public accounting experience is a plus
Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
Technically savvy with proficiency in Excel
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s degree and/or CPA is a plus
Responsibilities
Month‑end and year‑end closing processes for real estate development projects, including reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and producing financial reports.
Project costs, including construction expenses, land acquisition costs, and development‑related expenditures, and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
Vendor management: resolving vendor inquiries and discrepancies.
Handling the financial ledgers, reconciling intercompany accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for the entire organization.
Monitoring project cash flows, ensuring adequate funding for development activities, and identifying potential cash flow challenges.
Assisting with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews.
