SWAT Environmental, the nation’s leading radon mitigation company, is seeking a highly qualified
Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Administrator
to manage daily HR functions including bi‑weekly multi‑state payroll, benefits, leaves, onboarding, offboarding, and to support the Vice President of Human Resources with employee engagement, relations, policy development, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process bi‑weekly, multi‑state exempt and non‑exempt payroll for over 200 employees.
Manage HRIS/payroll system, including recruiting, onboarding, reporting, and payroll.
Administer human resource programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance, talent management, employee engagement, and training.
Handle employment‑related inquiries from employees and managers, referring complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies to ensure compliance.
Administer HR policies and programs; provide guidance to managers and assist in developing and updating company policies.
Stay knowledgeable of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
SHRM‑CP or PHR preferred.
2+ years experience processing payroll, with at least one year for a multi‑state employer of 150+ employees.
2+ years experience in an HR Generalist/Representative/Coordinator role.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to effectively deal with a diversity of individuals at all levels.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems (experience with Paycor is a plus).
Work Setting
Job Type: Full‑time, Onsite (not remote)
Location: On‑site in New Berlin, WI (near S. Moorland Rd & Cleveland Ave)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (normal business hours)
Compensation & Benefits
$65,000 – $70,000 annual salary plus bonus potential
