Salary Range:
$22.25 - $22.95 per hour

Position Overview:
The Special Education ESP provides support to students at the school site with needs who qualify for special education services in various school environments. The position is also responsible for implementing aspects of the student's IEP under the direction of certified staff.
Follow student Behavior Intervention and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
Provide support to students with personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as needed.
Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
Consistent and accurate data collection of student progress on goals and objectives.
Provide feedback on student progress to classroom teachers and related services staff.
Knowledge using iPads and other devices for communication of non-verbal students.
Support students with de-escalation techniques and use restrictive procedures as needed (Training provided).
Supervise students in various settings and locations before, during, and after school hours.
Move on and off the floor to meet students at their level.
Provide support/supervision at meal times, recess, and field trips.
Maintain confidentiality, effective communication, and organizational skills.
Regular on-time attendance is required.
Minimum requirement: 60 college semester credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university.
In lieu of college credits or degree, one can complete the Paraeducator Assessments. The passing scores in Minnesota are 65% and 70%.
High School diploma or GED required.
Experience working with elementary age students.
Computer skills preferred.
Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
Positive rapport with children, including the ability to correct inappropriate student behavior with fairness and consistency.
Regular on-time attendance is required.
