Inventory Specialist

Base pay range: $18.00/hr – $21.00/hr
Responsibilities
Execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices and SOPs for front end and pharmacy, including receiving, counting, ordering, returns, and pricing.
Validate planograms and ensure accuracy of stock and pricing.
Use reports and system applications to maintain accurate front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances.
Maintain asset protection techniques and file claims for vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.
Open and close the store as needed, performing required system start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring floor readiness.
Engage customers by greeting and offering assistance; resolve issues when serving as leader on duty.
Coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory processes, including creating and reviewing orders.
Scan deliveries and verify pharmacy shipments; verify postings of all pharmacy orders and substances.
Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process, disposals, call‑ins, vendor returns, and scan‑outs.
Perform price changes, markdowns, and regulatory pricing tasks.
Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering, monitor expense items, and maintain consigned inventory.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products.
Prepare for and support physical inventory, maintain inventory records, and organize documentation.
Assist with package delivery activities, scanning in and out of packages, and pickup program execution.
Register all sales, process returns and refunds, handle cash drops, and maintain POS records.
Comply with company policies, foster teamwork, and complete any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Six months of internal Walgreens experience or one year of retail experience.
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the past 12 months (internal candidates only).
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
Experience identifying operational issues and implementing solutions.
Preferred prior experience as shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
Preferred: prior work experience with Walgreens.
