Deskside Support Administrator – Infosys
Infosys is seeking a Deskside Support Administrator with interpersonal and technical skills to handle end‑user IT support. The role involves supporting end users with software/hardware, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and application installation & troubleshooting. Candidates must have a customer‑centric approach and assist in developing guidelines and procedures for modern workplace management.
Base Pay Range $61,248.00/yr – $73,448.00/yr
Required Skills
Located within commuting distance of Rochester, NY, or willing to relocate; travel within the US may be required.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent, or three years of progressive experience in lieu of each year of education.
Point of contact for user problems with hardware and software, including printer support (on‑site, remote, by phone).
Respond to client support requests raised through ITSM tool/emails.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on laptops, desktops, and workstations, maintaining optimum performance.
Install, configure, test, and maintain hardware and software components.
Perform root‑cause analysis and provide effective diagnoses; respond to customer requests via phone and e‑mail promptly.
Install and upgrade operating systems and software; visit clients’ desks when needed.
Administer desktop applications, perform tech refresh, OS (Windows 10/11) deployments and configurations, and meet SLA requirements.
Exposure to ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) based processes is advantageous.
Good knowledge of the MS Office suite.
Experience in end‑to‑end deployment of server room, networking, and peripheral hardware infrastructure.
IT equipment relocation – secure transfer and reinstallation of IT assets with minimal downtime.
IT equipment installation – deployment, configuration, and operational validation of computers, servers, and network devices.
On‑site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance services.
Rack maintenance – preventive and corrective servicing of equipment racks, cable management, and airflow optimization.
UPS units – visual and functional assessment of uninterruptible power supply systems.
Workday time clocks – operational verification of attendance tracking devices.
Badge readers – testing and servicing of employee identification access systems.
Network switches/servers mounting – secure racking and cable integration for core network and server hardware.
Equipment transfer and final disposal – removal, transport, and certified disposal of IT assets in compliance with e‑waste regulations.
Audio and videoconferencing systems installation – setup, integration, and testing of communication systems.
Site inspection walkthroughs – structured visual and technical assessments of IT facility conditions.
