Job: Patient Access Associate Hours: Flexible - Per Diem - this position is looking for someone who is available weekdays and weekends with flexible availability. The outpatient centers are open until 6:30 pm and have Saturday and Sunday hours. Location: Employee will primarily work at the hospital but can float to out Monroe Surgical Center (Monroe) and the Breast Center (East Windsor) Department: Outpatient/Ambulatory Care

Our Per Diem employees must work a minimum of 16 hours/month. There are always opportunities to pick up additional shifts! If you have previous/current patient scheduling experience, we'd love to speak with you.

Summary:

The Patient Access Associate is responsible for registering patients into the computer system

The Patient Access Associate will collect, verify and enter patient's required demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. They will collect and process any co-pays or time of service payments

The Patient Access Associate will provide excellent customer service which sets the tone to ensure positive patients outcomes and care

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Greeting patients with a positive and professional attitude and initiating the registration process

Properly entering the required fields within the ADT system to ensure patient safety and creates visits appropriately in the ADT system

Performs follow up on assigned third party accounts for all in-house admissions and select outpatients (e.g. PAT, Radiation and Oncology)

Follow ups include completing tasks such as verifying eligibility, obtaining benefits, ensuring pre-certification and/or authorization/referral requirements have been completed

Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to fast-paced, changing work environments

Demonstrating and appropriately documenting out of pocket responsibility for services as related to insurance contracts or PCHS Fee Schedules

Collecting time of service and point of service payments according to policy. Referring patients to Financial Counselor for assistance when necessary

When Patient Access Associates are assigned to bedside registration (ED and Surgical Areas), they are required to utilize the Workstation on Wheels (WOW)

Qualifications:

Required: H.S. Diploma/GED, strong customer service skills

Preferred: two years of medical experience, with previous hospital or physician office registration/insurance verification experience

Salary Range:

$17.05 - $26.44/Hourly
