Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Direct Care / Caregiver
Location: Meadows Homes, West Springfield, MA (On-site) | Full‑time

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking dependable Direct Care Staff in Springfield, MA. Join our dedicated team working in a supportive residential environment for developmentally disabled adults living in a community‑based group home. Our goal is to provide an environment that encourages residents to grow and to live as independently as possible.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
Administer medications as needed (training provided).
Advocate for individuals in community settings.
Build professional, supportive relationships with residents, offering informal guidance with a person‑centered approach while maintaining appropriate boundaries to ensure a respectful and safe environment.
Provide opportunities to optimize residents’ independence.
Assist in creating a supportive residential environment that encourages growth and independence.
Requirements
Completion of medication administration training (MAP certification).
Previous experience working with individuals with dementia or behavioral complexities is highly encouraged.
Complete and pass a background record screening process.
Must have a vehicle for work use and a valid driver's license.
Current First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification preferred.
Flexible to work a 2nd shift schedule, 3 pm‑11 pm, including weekends.
