Group and Community‑Based Services – Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Part‑time. NeuroRestorative, part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. Our programs range from vocational and therapy programs to day treatments and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, military service members and veterans.

Hours:

Part‑time – Days (7 am – 3 pm), Afternoon (3 pm – 11 pm) or Overnight (11 pm – 7 am).

Pay:

Starting rate $16.25/hr. or more, depending on experience and education.

Essential Job Functions

Training & Scheduling

– Attend orientation and ongoing training; participate in monthly staff meetings. Work scheduled hours, arrive on time, stay on shift until the replacement arrives, notify supervisor in advance if unable to work. May fill in for other shifts when required without causing unapproved overtime or in an emergency.

Teamwork & Safety

– Work collaboratively with colleagues; be courteous, communicate openly, listen, and show respect. Comply with all safety policies, procedures and practices; report work‑related injuries to supervisor.

Services and Supports

Direct Support

– Provide direct assistance based on individual service or program plans; help with socialization, behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community orientation, shopping, financial management, citizenship and other activities of daily living.

Records & Reporting

– Accurately document progress and activity; review records and logs to stay abreast of changes in service plans; maintain confidentiality; complete billing documentation on time. Report incidents of abuse or neglect following internal and external standards and report medical or behavioral incidents per policy.

Asset Management

– Assist with money management and safeguard individuals’ funds and property.

Relationship Management

– Build and maintain healthy professional relationships with individuals, families and case managers; greet visitors; uphold network customer service standards.

Health Care

Appointments & Medications

– Accompany individuals to medical appointments; relay orders and information to/from providers. If assigned, accurately administer and document medication deliveries and promptly report errors; secure controlled medications.

General Health Monitoring

– Monitor health, document concerns, communicate with nurse or supervisor, call 911 in emergencies, follow health care directives.

Equipment & Supplies

– Use medical equipment per procedures; report malfunctions; prepare or support individuals in dietary planning and menu adherence.

Maintenance

Transportation

– Drive safely, observe all laws, use safety equipment, report accidents and hazards promptly.

Housekeeping & Repairs

– Perform daily and seasonal housekeeping; maintain a clean, safe environment; conduct minor repairs or yard maintenance and report larger repairs as needed.

Safety Checks

– Verify water temperature during bathing; participate in safety drills and respond during emergencies.

Other Responsibilities

Perform related duties as required. May require use of a personal cell phone for business; stipend provided.

Minimum Knowledge & Skills

Education & Experience

– High school diploma or equivalent. Six months of human services experience preferred. Must be 18 years of age.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

– Valid driver’s license and vehicle registration/insurance if providing transportation. All state-required training and certifications completed within mandated timeframes.

Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens

– Job requires duties that expose you to blood, body fluids or tissues; this is an employment expectation.

Travel

– Travel required as needed.

Physical Requirements

– May need to exert up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently or 20 lb constantly for moving objects.
