THERAPIST (LICENSED) La Amistad Behavioral Health Services located minutes away from Orlando in quiet residential areas of Maitland and Winter Park, Florida, provides treatment for individuals ranging from adolescents to adults. We treat with a dual‑licensed program offering residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services.

Licensed Therapist, full‑time position Therapists are responsible for conducting therapeutic services for residents, working closely with psychiatrists daily, providing counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups. They interview and develop psychological histories, assess therapeutic needs, develop treatment objectives and weekly summaries, act as primary contact during a resident’s stay, advocate with the treatment team, and coordinate discharge planning with outside agencies.

Responsibilities

Conduct therapeutic services for residents.

Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team.

Provide family, individual, and group counseling.

Interview, develop psychological history, and assess therapeutic needs.

Develop treatment objectives and weekly treatment summaries.

Serve as the primary contact for residents and families.

Coordinate discharge planning with outside agencies.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, or related fields.

Experience: One year direct clinical experience in family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents; specialized training in specific modalities such as abuse‑reactive, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play therapy, art therapy, or relaxation therapy.

License/Certification: Current license from the State of Florida (LCSW, LMFT, LMFI, LMHC or LMHCI).

Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques across cultural, social, economic, communication, and role expectations.

Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective strategies within the treatment plan.

Physical Requirements: Minimal; may require response to crisis intervention.
