Position Overview
Licensed Therapist, full-time position at La Amistad Behavioral Health Services, located near Orlando in Maitland and Winter Park, Florida. The facility offers treatment for adults and adolescents, including residential, partial hospital, and intensive outpatient services.
Responsibilities Therapists are responsible for conducting therapeutic services for residents, collaborating daily with psychiatrists and the interdisciplinary team. They provide counseling to families, individuals, and groups, interview and develop psychological histories, assess therapeutic needs, establish treatment objectives, and prepare weekly treatment summaries. Therapists act as the primary contact for residents and families, serve as advocate with the treatment team, and coordinate discharge planning with outside agencies.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or other related fields.
Experience: One year direct clinical experience with family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents. Specialized training required for targeted issues such as abuse, sexual offending, substance abuse, trauma, vocational, play or art therapy.
License/Certification: Current license from the State of Florida (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC or LMHCI).
Good verbal and written communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques within diverse cultural and socioeconomic contexts.
Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective strategies within the overall treatment plan.
Physical Requirements: Minimal; may require crisis intervention response.
