This position is responsible for leading the design and development of new products from concept through production for manufacturing assemblies.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of new products from concept through production
Create 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Analyze designs and develop/test prototypes for fabricated structural assemblies.
Collaborate with marketing and customer teams to translate user needs into product specifications
Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Automation, Design for Assembly (DFA) and Packaging principles in all designs.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate materials, processes and tooling options
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product and process improvement
Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards applicable to the industry (NHTSA, etc.)
Manage engineering change orders (ECO), bill of materials (BOM) and product lifecycle documentation (ECN)
Qualifications
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong grasp of principles in Structural Analysis
Basic understanding of electrical systems
Minimum of one year work experience
Preferred Skills
3+ years performing and analyzing FEA Structural analysis
3+ Years in a mechanical design position or related field
