Overview Nuvance Health is a large, multi‑specialty medical practice that values connected, personal, agile, and imaginative care. This role supports the psychiatry department with clinical and clerical duties, including Trans‑Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) administration and routine patient intake.
Responsibilities
Greets patients, performs intake activities, documents vital signs and medication history, and verifies EMR provider and pharmacy information.
Transcribes patient information into the EMR, including demographics, medication history, social history, and medical history.
Prepares and maintains patient charts, completes paperwork such as disability forms, and scans supporting documents.
Reconciles EMR orders as assigned.
Maintains a clean and stocked examination area, performing environmental rounds weekly or monthly.
Ensures patients are properly prepared for their visits, including gowning and distribution of clinical paperwork and supplies.
Conducts in‑office testing and coordinates ancillary services as directed by the provider.
Collects, processes, and logs specimen results into the accession book and patient record.
Maintains inventory and upkeep of medical equipment and supplies, filling out logs.
Coaches and educates colleagues on procedures and techniques.
Performs pathology and audit tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Provides practice‑based competencies for in‑office surgical procedures, including sterile setup and recovery under RN direction.
Interacts with patients and colleagues in accordance with Western Connecticut Medical Group service standards.
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
New or experienced graduate of a Medical Assistant program, Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years of related medical office experience.
Basic medical knowledge and terminology; skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
Minimum 1 year of experience; CPR certification preferred; bilingual preferred.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively.
