TRA Registrar / Patient Management Children's Clinics
Location: DMC Children’s Specialty Center, 3950 Beaubien, Detroit, MI 48201.
Start date: ASAP. Duration: 13 weeks. Hours: 40 per week. Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, onsite only (no remote work). Pay: $27.67 per hour.
Responsibilities
Perform full patient registration at the date of service, including gathering demographic data and securing hospital/legal forms such as Advance Directives, Conditions of Services, Consent for treatment, Medicare Message, EMTALA, etc.
Schedule diagnostics and other services using the scheduling system, provide appointment instructions to customers, and coordinate other tasks as required.
Document meeting notes, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
Conduct data entry and generate various departmental and management reports.
Provide world‑class customer service following Conifer Standards of Care, using proper and compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during, and after the date of service.
Perform hospital cash reconciliation and secure payment entry in accordance with financial and cash control policies and procedures.
Verify insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility; obtain authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled services; secure inpatient visit notifications to payors; and complete assigned registration financial clearance worklists.
Coordinate patient check‑out and after‑care activities.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
Administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area required.
Customer-service experience preferred.
Knowledge of insurance verification or patient registration processes.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
