Responsibilities for a Day Center RN
Demonstrate an ability to assess and plan for participant care based on an understanding of clinical needs of participants.
Assess each participant for appropriate level of care.
Plan and implement all clinical, ADL needs of participants.
Manage all clinical emergencies.
Communicate with family members/caregivers and physicians about participants’ medical needs and changes.
Administer all medications and treatments.
Conduct all routine monitoring and prevention activities of participants.
Coordinate all care of other providers (PT/OT, etc.).
Maintain current CPR certification.
Oversee all clinical activities of CNAs.
Assist in training staff.
Assist in planning, preparing for, and managing the participant case meetings in conjunction with the Program Director and Case Manager/Social Worker.
Develop, plan, and implement health education programs for all levels of participants.
Assess participants’ nutritional status and implement corrective action as necessary.
Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment is maintained.
Maintain all nursing files and records.
Qualifications for a Day Center RN
Current and valid RN licensure.
2–4 years working with an elderly population in an acute care or community agency.
Understanding of geriatrics, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.
Excellent communication skills.
Creative.
Flexible.
Motivated to make a difference.
Common sense and ability to work independently.
Non‑judgmental.
