Overview
Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP) is a 24‑hour behavioral health acute care facility dedicated to providing safe, secure, therapeutic environments for patients with psychiatric and medical needs. The Nurse Manager (NM) works within a collaborative nursing leadership team to ensure high quality patient care and advance unit and organizational goals. Responsibilities
Direct, supervise, and manage all nursing staff on the assigned unit and coordinate staffing schedules with the Staffing Office. Develop, communicate, and enforce unit policies, procedures and standards of care, and serve as primary liaison for quality assurance, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance activities. Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to direct care staff, including orientation, competency assessment, education and performance management. Oversee patient care delivery and unit performance, including acuity management, incident reporting, and documentation reviews, to achieve safety and quality outcomes. Participate in interdisciplinary committees, quality improvement projects, and executive unit leadership meetings. Ensure compliance with all state, federal and hospital regulations, including SBON, CMS, TJC, CDPHE and Colorado personnel board rules. Qualifications
Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or a state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact. Four (4) years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational field related to the position. Education substitution up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred: Leadership experience supervising an environment that requires collaboration with multiple disciplines. Preferred: Professional Nursing experience in Behavioral Health, Forensic, medical or Geriatrics. Preferred: Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑level nursing disciplines on the unit through training, mentorship and quality care improvement measures. Benefits
