Building Manager – Administrator IV CMHHIP Operations State of Colorado seeks a Building Manager responsible for operational oversight of furniture, fixtures, equipment (FFE), office space utilization, procurement, printing operations, risk management, mailroom, and building management of the Robert Hawkins Building at the Colorado Mental Health Institute (CMHIP) in Pueblo.

Responsibilities

Building Safety & Security Oversight:

• Ensure patient and public safety through ongoing risk assessment.

Manage personal duress alarms, access authorization of electronic key and prox‑card systems, and patient visit authorization.

Co‑ordinate patient movement during building repairs or scheduled maintenance.

Review critical incident reports and provide recommendations to the Director of Hospital Operations and CMHIP CEO.

Conduct monthly searches of visitation, dining, interview, courtroom, and spiritual care areas.

Facility Management:

• Review and initiate all special maintenance requests.

Act as liaison for key distribution, work order completion, building repairs, and office moves.

Oversee FFE repairs and coordinate replacement requests with the FFE coordinator.

Coordinate special activity set‑ups and takedowns with Nutrition Services.

Conduct daily building walk‑throughs to evaluate conditions.

Facilitate building operations meetings every other month.

Property Management:

• Maintain daily contact with the CMHIP Department of Public Safety, various hospital disciplines, and Unit Teams regarding supply approvals and personal property.

Training & New Employee Orientation:

• Coordinate and conduct orientation on key and prox‑card policy, PDA use, duress response, emergency equipment location, fire drill procedures, and evacuation instructions.

Other Duties:

• Provide tours of the facility to acquaint visitors with CMHIP’s mission.

Perform any additional duties assigned during the workday.

Minimum Qualifications

Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to building or facility operations or a combination of related education and experience equal to 7 years.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing building or facility operations, including FFE, space utilization, procurement, and administrative workflows.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, oversee daily operations, and prioritize risk management.

Effective communication and collaboration with Public Safety, Facilities Management, Nutrition Services, and clinical departments.

Solid problem‑solving skills, budget awareness, and ability to coordinate multiple projects in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Conditions of Employment

Standard background check (CBI name check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, reference checks).

Position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application and throughout employment.

Physical requirements include the ability to perform defensive tactics, lift arms above the head, kick, and handle restrained situations; see detailed physical assessment procedures.

Applicants must complete a 2‑step TB screening and annual influenza vaccination; other required vaccinations per state and facility policy.
