Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Accountancy Department Overview: The Craig School of Business seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses such as ACCT 4A: Financial Accounting Principles and Systems, ACCT 4B: Managerial Accounting Principles and Systems, or other classes as needed to fulfill current students’ educational goals. As an AACSB‑accredited institution, faculty must hold and maintain qualifications consistent with one of the SA, PA, SP, or IP categories.
Responsibilities Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system‑wide policies. Instructors prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester, in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
Conditional Appointment Appointments are contingent upon budget, enrollment considerations, and the collective bargaining agreement between CSU and the California Faculty Association. Newly appointed lecturers must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States (Fresno State is not a sponsoring agency for Temporary Faculty positions).
Compensation Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). For Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree, the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs).
Anticipated Semester
Fall 2025: August 18, 2025 – December 22, 2025
Spring 2026: January 15, 2026 – May 22, 2026
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master’s degree in Accountancy from an accredited institution.
Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in the accounting field (or a PhD earned in the last 5 years, or recent scholarly publications).
Preferred Qualifications
Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, demonstrated by prior teaching experiences and evaluations.
Professional licensure (e.g., CPA, CMA, etc.).
