Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Earth & Environmental Sciences

Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in Earth & Environmental Sciences such as EES 1 Natural Disasters & Earth Resources, EES 4 Environmental Science, EES 5 Climate Change, EES 6 California Wildfires, Forest Ecology & Land Use, EES 9 Introduction to Earth Science, EES 102S Sedimentology, EES 106 Structural Geology, EES 106F Structural Geology Field Methods, EES 108 Soil & Water Sciences, EES 112 Planet Earth through Time, EES117 Hydrogeology, EES 167 Oceans & Atmosphere & Climate, EES168 California's Earth System, NSCI 115 Environmental Earth & Life Science, or other courses as needed.
Prepare, deliver, and grade lectures, conduct office hours, design assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations.
Adhere to university policies and the Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
Meet scheduled class formats (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, hybrid) as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
Evidence of successful undergraduate teaching experience required.
Ph.D. in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
Commitment to teaching excellence and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Compensation Salary commensurate with qualifications within the CSU Salary Schedule for Class Code 2358. Master’s holders: $5,507‑$6,677 per month full‑time (15 WTUs). Actual salary will be adjusted based on WTUs assigned per term.
Term and Availability Temporary part‑time lecturer pool open continuously. Positions filled as needed. Availability to begin teaching on short notice required. Pool remains for two terms; re‑application necessary thereafter.
