Cath Lab Technician – Full Time Days Position Summary

Performs direct and indirect functions in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Assists all physicians/staff with clinical and technical aspects of cardiovascular care. Scrubs monitors and circulates in all invasive procedures in the Cath lab and IVR. Performs inventory control. Able to function on all cardiac alerts and STEMI cases.

Job Responsibilities

Assesses physical, psychosocial, and development needs of patients, completing pre, intra, and post-procedure assessments.

Informs nurse/physician of any changes in patient condition.

Develops a plan of care for procedures, individualized to specific patient problems.

Provides teaching and guidance to patient/family and staff.

Executes x-ray for desired views, performs image acquisition, storage, and printing.

Manages IABP setup and insertion, assists with temporary and permanent pacemaker care.

Education & Experience

Required: Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent, Basic EKG course.

Preferred: Bachelor in Radiology or equivalent.

Required experience: 6 months in Cath Lab/Cardiac Intervention Lab.

Preferred: 1 year experience providing cardiac cath radiology care.

Certifications

Required: BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Preferred: RCIS certification.
