Job Description Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families using principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
Units and Scheduling
Telemetry Unit (3 East)
– 45‑bed remote telemetry. 36 hours/week (3 × 12‑hour shifts). Day (7am‑7pm) and Night (7pm‑7am).
Medical/Telemetry Unit (3 West)
– 30‑bed medical unit. 36 hours/week (3 × 12‑hour shifts). Day and Night.
Medical/Surgical Unit (4 West)
– 40‑bed medical‑surgical/ortho. 36 hours/week (3 × 12‑hour shifts). Day and Night.
Step‑down Unit
– 15‑bed adult intermediate care. 36 hours/week (3 × 12‑hour shifts). Night shift only.
Emergency Department
– Level III trauma center. 36 hours/week. Mid (9am‑9 pm or 11am‑11 pm) and Night (7pm‑7am).
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s degree in nursing.
RN license issued by South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for vital signs, injections, or exams.
Capacity to lift and move patients or equipment.
Visual acuity and color perception for reading charts and monitors.
Audiitory ability to communicate and perceive alarms.
Stamina for long shifts and stressful situations.
Mobility throughout clinical environments.
Compliance with infection control and PPE.
