Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Take full mouth intraoral wellness scans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft.
Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monitor patient vital signs during appointments to ensure safety throughout procedures.
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy before treatment; update documentation as needed in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Instrument sterilization.
Qualifications
Valid NYS licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Experience is valued but not required.
Team player.
Strong clinical and communication skills.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft.
Experience with an intra‑oral scanner such as an Itero.
Strong attention to infection control standards.
Ability to perform patient care tasks effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with digital records and digital imaging equipment used in modern dental practices.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality and data security.
Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
