Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Night Shift)
Location:
Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital – Temple, TX
Schedule:
Full‑time Nights | 7 p‑7 a | 36 hours per week
Job Summary The RN coordinates patient care in a Level 1 Trauma Center emergency department. The RN uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model, assesses patients, develops and implements individualized plans, and evaluates outcomes while ensuring safe passage and limiting preventable complications.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical assessments, nursing diagnoses, and care planning in a fast‑paced ER environment.
Activate stroke & STEMI protocols, chest‑pain and stroke center processes.
Collaborate with ED providers, social workers, registration, and trauma teams.
Participate in shared governance, quality improvement projects, and departmental committees.
Document, review, and evaluate patient progress, including evidence‑based practice changes.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited RN program.
Minimum one year of ER RN experience.
Registered Nurse license in Texas.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
